IMPACT AND INJURY CAUSATION ANALYSIS
The process, that ICC
uses for automobile accident investigation is designed to determine
whether the impact forces, as documented, could have reasonably resulted in the injuries
or damages claimed.
In generally all accident reconstruction reports, ICC uses a time proven format that
provides concise information for determination, litigation, mediation, or dismissal.

(Excerpts from an accident report)
"In any forced energy impact involving a rear end
collision, the energy that is produced in the collision is transferred
to the occupant of the vehicle. (The accident victim) was stationary and
did not anticipate or prepare herself for the collision. As a result,
the force of the energy resulting from the impact was transferred to
(the accident victim) throwing her body violently forward which caused
her injuries."
ICC will provide, in the reports, detailed medical
drawings and illustrations of the occurrence of the injury as based on
scientific and medical knowledge.
These illustrations help to
graphically tell the story of what caused the
injury and how the injury occurred.

In many accident
reconstruction ICC
will take into
consideration "Occupant Kinematics." This is a term used to describe
the movement of bodies (whether driver or passenger) inside the
vehicle at the time the impact occurs. Deriving from Newton's third
law is that bodies inside the vehicle will move with a force equal to
the force applied and in a direction opposite to the force applied.
